Less is more – contest results

The significance and message of an image is often a small, at the first glance inconspicuous detail. In this sense you could say: less is more.
In a certain resemblance to e.g. minimalism 278 Pieces of Artwork has been submitted, that do not achieve their effect through a wealth of details but by a few well-placed accents and a harmonious coloring or black/white design. All techniques was allowed.
The contest was held at Fine Art America, the Submissions begun on Monday, February 13th, 2012 and ended on Saturday, February 18th, 2012. The voting was possible during 5 days and at least we had four participants on the first three places since the board software is unfortunately not designed to position several candidates for a single place. Because we have clearly two winners on the second place.
The result then looks like this:
1st place: Sentinel by Vivian Anderson
2nd place: Golden Hasake by Stav Stavit Zagron
Â
and
2nd place: Pier by Skip Nall
3rd place: Midway Plaisance by Jim Wright
Â
Congratulations to our four winners!
However, so many other contributions should have earned first places as well, since there are really very beautiful and exciting work in this contest. Therefore, it is really worth to browse it!

Give your congrats to the winners!
